Opening WIENWOCHE 2021

Eleven projects will be introduced and presented on September 10th at the festival opening and vernissage ofthe exhibition
“Back to Normality” in the Sandleitenhof, a municipal housing complex in Ottakring.
In various forms, the projects explore utopias and dystopias, post-humans, gender and queer feminism, artificial intelligence and ecosystems, communal living, subversive survival tactics and sustainability, solidarity and racism, as well as political participation and social engagement in a digital age.

The exhibition was open to the public at Sandleitenhof from September 11th to September 19th.

For the opening, Ironica Los Culos produced an array of exclusive video content specifically tailored to the festival’s themes of
queer-feminism, dystopia, and utopia. These visuals were intricately mapped across the walls and pillars of the Sohostudio, transforming the architecture into a digital canvas.
She also performed a special set using Ableton Live, which allowed her to integrate live beats and remix tracks in real-time.

Patricia Anderle, Member of the State Parliament and City Council, representing City Councilor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler, opened WIENWOCHE 2021 at 6:15 PM.
